Seminars
Gary hit the lecture circuit in 1988. Since then, his seminars have been entertaining and educating groups of fly fishers across the country. Whether he is before a small group or an auditorium filled with advanced anglers, his presentations never fail to teach and engage the audience. Some of the venues include monthly and annual Trout Unlimited meetings, civic organizations, major outdoor sports shows, and various private clubs, including the prestigious Theodore Gordon Flyfishers, The Anglers’ Club of Philadelphia, and The Anglers’ Club of New York. A list of current seminars is linked below.

Vacations on the Fly
With the same
objective as their nationally-syndicated PBS series,
“Vacations on the Fly,” this seminar highlights multiple
locations with one thing in common; both great fly fishing and exciting
vacation opportunities.
From high in the Rocky Mountains to
the flats of Nantucket and the Caribbean, to the wilds of
Patagonia, don’t miss the adventure!
East Cape
Adventure
Just a short
trip from the hustle and bustle of Cabo a very different
experience awaits. Tucked along the shoreline of the
Sea of Cortez are some excellent flyfishing outposts,
complete with comfortable villas, friendly bartenders,
Mariachi bands, and warm breezes.
This program highlights flyfishing
for tuna, roosterfish, dorado, and other exciting species
just under the sparkling surface of the deep blue Gulf of
Mexico. Be on the lookout for porpoise, spotted eagle
rays, and the incredible whale shark!
Inside The
Reef
Just off the
coast of Belize is the inviting Caribbean island of
Ambergris Caye. But don’t let it’s tranquil
setting fool you. Just in-shore of the world’s
second-largest barrier reef you’ll find the elusive
Bonefish. The crystal clear water and white sand only
make the task more challenging. But success is in the
air.
To rejuvenate your ability to focus
on the water the seminar takes a quick side trip to one of
the mainland’s Mayan ruins.
Salmon River Success
This is not
just another “fish story.” This is a look at a
world-class fishing program on the eastern shore of Lake
Ontario, more specifically, New York’s Salmon River.
Despite a somewhat turbulent history
the Salmon River and surrounding tributaries maintains a
place at the top when it comes to record-breaking Chinook,
Coho, Steelhead, and other prized sport fish. Learn
the seasons, refine your equipment list, plan a more
successful experience all the way around.
Off The
Beaten Path In Southeast Wyoming
In this era
of mass marketing, over-consumption, and globalization, many
people are discovering the meaning of “less is more.”
For years anglers have been flocking to the
well-publicized rivers of the west, creating the overcrowded
environment they were seeking to avoid.
Rivers such as the Snake, the
Yellowstone, and the Green offer great fishing
opportunities. This seminar, however, focuses on the
overlooked and lesser-known streams and rivers of southeast
Wyoming…the forgotten corner.
